Alas...I'm sure you're tired of reading the words - catching up...(and seeing those ellipses!)...
Isn't this a sight to see - grandmother and grandson catching up over an open flame. Precious, folks, just precious!Ice cream - the theme of Summer 2012! (and probably all summers to come!)
Mommy helping with the cone. Mason does a pretty respectable job, but is willing to hand over the cone to whomever is on clean-up duty. But he always wants it back, and right quick too!
Brian took this picture and we texted it to Joel saying we wish he could be with us!
Can you see the surprised look on his face? I think he was trying to scoot backward and somehow managed to tip back. Good thing he's tough and it didn't phase him!
Memorial Day weekend was spent doing lots of this - it was rough (hot and sweaty work), but we plowed through and got it done. Now we can sit back and enjoy!
It's so cute to find him surrounded by discarded (read) books! Sometimes he'll read for 15-20 minutes. He's so quiet!
Happy, cool, and encouraging runny buddy! He says - Mommy, run fast!
Such a good helper. Often he'll do something that he thinks is helpful, or that I've thanked him for previously and then declare himself "helpful". Or he will say "nank-you, welcome" for putting something away, or throwing a piece of dirt in the trash. So helpful!
Watering (the dirt, grass, sidewalk, and driveway) with his "Kay cow". Thanks Great-aunt Kay - he loves to watch it "pee"!
And.......more ice cream! Surprise!
We celebrated my birthday on Sunday in the midst of several other birthday celebrations for family and friends. Ending the day with pizza and ice cream cake is my kind of birthday! And FaceTime with Joel was pretty fun too!
Pardon the blurry picture, it was the best one. When I went into Mason's room this is what I found. Not sure if he was too hot or just playing, but it happened again the next morning as well!
Being silly!
Mason and the neighbors, Karey and Myah, spent lots of time playing in the pool on Memorial Day weekend. Mason also enjoyed the task of filling the pool using the hose and now goes for the hose multiple times a day, whether or not there is a pool to fill.
We stopped by to drop a few things off for Nonie and Grandpa and Mason insisted on a tractor ride. Dad needed to put shoes on and when they came back out of the house, this was their (Mason's) preferred tractor-riding attire. Gloves and a vest with shorts and Crocs. Seems logical to me!
And Grandpa had to put his gloves on too. Mason insisted.
Silly goose!
