Life Lately...(March)

Now that April is almost coming to a close, I'll get updated on March! Since we didn't have many "specific" events to blog about, I'll just throw all the random pictures in one post and catch up that way!

Fun playing at Rubbermaid on a cold, snowy morning.  Oh March weather...we were so over you!
Reading books in the "garage".  That box was fun for a few weeks...I moved it to the basement and Mason enjoyed parking his scooter inside his "loop garage".
28 weeks...I'm now almost 36 weeks.  Moving right along (at lightening speed!)...
Having fun at story time at the library.
Mason's favorite place to stop and play in Canton!
Mason and Daddy enjoying a cookie break while brining in a truck load of wood.
Picture Mason happily riding his trike around the driveway...then this is the mommy behind the scenes wearing daddy's coat because it's so cold and she can't comfortably zip her own.  I think I took this picture and sent it to my parents and Brian saying that the Dariette opened in exactly one week.  Did not feel like Dariette weather!
Beating the yucky weather by stringing beads and making patterns (something a bit foreign to Mason!).
Reading a new book from the library, Tractor Day.
Someone thought it was appropriate and okay if he drove his tractors "carefully" on the dining room table. He was driving on various roads in our area getting from here to there narrating where he was going the whole way.  It was too cute to make him get down!
Taking a break from riding bike outside to read with Nonie...no need to remove the helmet!
More reading...sense a theme?  Mason sits to read books for a very long time, and would always like to read one more, especially before nap or bedtime!
Mason enjoyed the mini Easter egg hunt at the library during story time.
Remember the Dariette reference?  Well, it didn't take us long to enjoy our first visit of the season.  Take-out at Nonie and Grandpa's house...still too cold to eat there!
Sommer and Veena spent the day with us and these three had fun playing together!
Such a big helper and almost always willing to take charge, especially when fun carts are involved!
Any time the toolbox comes out, Mason is ready and willing to be involved in the project!

I think this was the last major snowfall of this winter, on March 25th to be exact.

Mason wanted the train track off the table so he could drive his car on the road.
A favorite place to "hide".
Being silly...I think Nonie accidentally tucked part of his shirt into his undies.  And then Mason wanted his "red" boots on, not to be confused with his "black" boots.
Lunch with Daddy at the Mexican restaurant near his work.  Mason just loves to dip the chips into the salsa! (And say cheese while avoiding eye contact with the camera.)
A semi-warm sunny morning.  Mason loves to play with Karey and Myah, and jump on the trampoline!
While mommy shopped, daddy and Mason made several trips up and down the escalator, and later moved on to the elevator.
A timing error on mommy's part meant we all paid the price and did some late night church meal grocery shopping at Walmart.  We all felt the same as Mason's expression shows...but he was a total trooper!

And there you have it...random pictures that made up our March!

Saturday with Family

Mason's 3rd birthday is in two days.  Say what?! Dave, Susie, and Neal are visiting for the weekend helping us celebrate.  Today we packed a picnic lunch and hiked at Silver Creek Metro Park.  It was a beautiful day for hiking and eating outside!
We did a short 1.2 mile walk before eating lunch.  Mason walked most of the loop.
He said it was too bright to look at me for a picture!
 Such nice trails for walking!
Hanging out in a big hollow tree.
Samson, Neal's dog, was more than willing to walk!  He spent many long hours in the truck just before getting to the park and was ready to expend some energy!
Such a gorgeous day! Not too hot, a nice breeze but not windy, and sunny.  We haven't had many days like this yet this spring and we're ready for them!
After eating lunch at the picnic area we walked our second trail for the day.  Mason was a bit more tired and worn out for this one.  He kept up pretty well but took his share of shoulder and piggy back rides, always wanting down to cross bridges or climb steps.
Top L - he just sat down on the middle of the trail and rested.
Top R - standing on a big fallen tree which he climbed up to on his own.
Bottom L - family hike
Bottom R - why are picnic lunches so good?!

We stopped at the Dariette on the way home for the perfect ending to our day out!  Then had a tasty supper made by Brian...a wonderful day if you ask me!

Insta-Life: March Edition

March in pictures...
This little boy sure doesn't mind the cold.  But his mother is tired of sitting in the garage under a blanket ...where's the sun?!
All serious pee-ers eat crackers, cross their legs, and make silly faces with their daddies, right?  Ahh...the process of learning to go on the potty...ended in positive results, so we can look back and smile!
Five days later...the face of a boy who just peed in the potty for the very first time!!
Enjoying the (one) beautiful spring-like day we had in March.  Luckily it was a Sunday and Mason and daddy could explore in the pasture and ride every trike and bike in the garage!
Mama's Bachelor watching partner (for a few minutes).  He wanted to cuddle and mommy can't resist when he says that, plus he's just so sweet!
Stayed up late to finish this one...an easy read that's endearing and funny.
Chick-fil-a play area fun!  Mason's reward for being a good shopper at Target.
Ice cream to celebrate potty success! It was a little chilly for outdoor ice cream eating, but we had fun!
Easter egg hunt with friends! It was a little chilly but that didn't stop this crew from having fun!
Learning the fine art of reviewing "taxis" returns. Helper must go to bed so daddy can get some work done!
Mason earned his big potty prize!!! So happy for him...and glad to be diaper free for about two months (before baby brother arrives)!
Playing trains.  If it was nice outside (and not snowing!!), Mason would be riding his trike.  Wondering where the spring weather is...
Mason was watching "games" (meaning PBS Kids) on my phone while I was showering.  He came to me saying, "look, I'm doing it!".  Sending very meaningful texts to his Nonie!
Shaving with grandpa!
"It's dark in here." Said with a big, chocolate-faced grin from a willing brownie-making helper!
Happy Easter!
