Father's Day Weekend

Our Father's Day weekend included some special Musselman guests! My cousin Josh got married several months ago and his reception was on Saturday, so my mom's family came from PA to help celebrate.
We had dinner with my grandparents and aunts and uncles on Friday evening at my parent's house. Mason enjoyed chatting with Nana over dessert.
Mimi Martene! Mason loves my aunt Martene and was glad to spend time with her for the weekend. Enjoying cake at the reception on Saturday afternoon.
Love my momma! Look-alikes?!
After the reception we came home to play with our neighbors...they spend lots of time together.
And play so nicely! They were very quietly reading books together before going back to playing.
Enjoying a beautiful Sunday after church. Mason and Micah had many extra sets of "grandparents" willing to play and follow them all weekend.
Daddy being daddy on Father's Day. Such a good one he makes!
Going for a farm walk after naps. These two boys love their daddy, and he loves them too! So happy they can be silly buddies together and have such a fun relationship!
Mason loves exploring all facets of farm life, including climbing on round bales.
Trying out the stilts that Joel made with Nana and Pop-pop many summers ago when he and Josh stayed with them for a week.
Micah is developing a similar affinity towards Mimi Martene.
Mason and Micah with their great-grandparents.
Four generations! It was so fun having family visitors for the weekend, and on Father's Day to make it even more special.

Bobby & Britney Visit

It was great to have Bobby and Britney here for a weekend! They visited when Mason was just a few months old and it was great to have them back again.
On Saturday we packed a picnic lunch and hiked in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We love trying new trails in the park.
Mason loves this...hiking, exploring, and spending time outside.
We took advantage of the extra people along and took a few pictures of the four of us together.
Mason couldn't wait to get to the water. He just wanted to get his hands and feet in and play. Luckily he didn't get too wet!
We hiked the Blue Hen Falls trail and it was beautiful. It was a perfect day to be outside!
It didn't take long for the Crocs to come off!
He didn't think he need any assistance when walking in the water...he could have played here all day!
Finding rocks to throw and skip. These two were totally in their element!
Micah had fun too but it didn't take him too long to fall asleep.
Micah didn't want to sit in Mason's lap for a posed brother picture. He just wanted to walk since he was free from the backpack!
Mason couldn't wait to climb up the roots.
After we finished hiking, we stopped at Barnes & Noble to look at books and play before eating supper at Chipotle.
And then ice cream at the Dariette. Bobby and Britney loved it so much we went two nights in a row to get them their fill of good ice cream. No one else complained about that decision...
Reading books before bed. Micah actually let Britney hold him and sat with her for a few minutes. He was pretty unsure of these new people in his house and wasn't sure what to do with them in his space!
Mason was excited to open a late birthday gift. He couldn't wait to set up the Thomas track master set.
And he was more than willing to open Micah's early birthday gift.
Supper on the patio. We had a such great weather for a fun weekend together. It was so nice to have Bobby and Britney spend time at our house. Thanks for coming!

Brian's Birthday!

Brian turned 31 several weeks ago and his parents came to visit for the weekend.
It happened to be Valentine's Day when they arrived so they had a few extra goodies. Mason is excited to play outside with his new bat and wiffle balls.
They also brought donuts. Lucky boy!
Mason and Mimi spent lots of time reading, especially the High Five and Hidden Pictures magazines.  Mason loved spending time with her!
Since we had in-house childcare (which was wonderful!), we took advantage and went on a date to celebrate Valentine's Day and Brian's birthday. We had a good time together!
Micah was dedicated on Sunday, Brian's birthday. He didn't like when Carl held him during the prayer, but didn't make too much of a fuss.  Mason, on the other hand, had some dry skin itches he was trying to take care of!
Brian made his own birthday lunch - how about that! I told him I felt bad that he did most of the work, but when he's good in the kitchen (and enjoys it), why take away the fun just because it's his birthday!? We had steak, sweet potatoes, and roasted broccoli.
Brian picked out his own birthday meat…and lots of it!
We celebrated with our parents after church.
At least Brian and I have nice smiles for the camera!
Mason couldn't wait to help blow out the candles.
And eat the chocolate cake that he helped Mimi make. It was good! We had a great weekend and fun celebrating Brian!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had a little photo shoot with these two yesterday to get a picture for personalized Valentine's. Yesterday…that doesn't leave much time to get those personalized Valentine's to our loves. At least we have a couple cute pictures to show for it!
They posed pretty well for about two minutes.  Then Micah was off and moving and Mason did his best to hang on to him and keep him in position, making Micah more ready to move!
Such handsome, sweet Valentine's to love.
This morning Mason walked into the dining room from the steps and asked if it was his birthday. Back story: he asks multiple times a day if it's his birthday yet, and how many days until it's his day. He didn't really know what Valentine's Day was about… But he did enjoy the heart-shaped banana muffin and the candies.  The pink smoothie wasn't a hit today.  Yesterday, he drank the whole thing; today he was too excited for the candies!
Mason was playing with Micah and I discovered them like this. I had nothing to do with Micah…Mason got him in the seat and had the vibrating base going. He thought Micah loved it!  Micah's way too big for this seat, but it's one of his favorite things to play with.
Mimi and Grandpa Dave arrived tonight to visit for the weekend and celebrate Brian's birthday which is on Sunday. Micah enjoyed applesauce off Mimi's spoon.
Mason was beside himself with excitement for their arrival. He asked every few minutes if Mimi and Grandpa were here yet…all day long!

We had a fun day celebrating love and enjoying being together! We topped off the day with fancy cupcakes…mmmm!
