Insta-Life: August Edition

Here is our life in August via Instagram:
 The butterflies enjoy the zinnias in the garden as much as we do! {BK = Brian's photo}
 Mmmm...doesn't get much better than a mint big wheel from the Dariette!
 It's 3:43 in the afternoon and mama hasn't had lunch, baby took a short nap and needed a snack.  Mama's ok with it because she knows babies don't keep.
 Cooling down after a hot, sunny, humid run.  It was fun to go with this happy partner!
The first watermelon Brian's ever grown, and it was quite tasty. {BK}
 Taking a rest mid ride.  It's hard work triking to the school playground, playing and riding home again!
 Fun morning play day at the park with friends before some start back to school.  Where did the summer go?!
 I laid Micah on the blanket and Mason did all the rest.  Brothers are the best!
So close {to the beach} you can almost smell it!
 Micah's first time to the ocean, Mason's fourth.  Kempf family beach week coming up!
 Mason had a great first day at the beach!  Too busy working in the sand and dumping water to talk.  {Seriously, no words! Brian was playing with him and said it was the quietest he's been in a long time!}
 The beach can really wear a person out! {BK} They both fell asleep on our short, five minute drive to the restaurant for dinner.
 Made in the shade!
 Ahh...
 Family frisbee.  Beautiful beach day!
 Look, it's the mama on the beach and in the picture!
 Myrtle Beach boardwalk attempted family picture.  Brian was trying to get Mason calmed down enough to pose, and I was obviously trying to keep him on the railing and telling him to smile.  And, Micah, well he's just sleeping!
 A family that beaches together stays together.  Isn't that how the saying goes? :) {Missing Joel!}
 Partner for the evening. {BK}
 Dinner at the Isles restaurant. My three handsome boys!
 Last day of vacation.  Will miss these views and all the fun of the ocean and pool, but home isn't so bad either!
 Nap time! Only a few more hours. {Notice how comfortable Brian is crammed into the backseat - leg in his face and all!}
 Home in time to enjoy a beautiful Ohio evening and a walk with the trike.
 Jenna at the height of fashion sporting Mason's hat from the fireman's BBQ. {BK}
 Call me biased, but I'd say he's SDC {so darn cute}!
 I think someone could benefit from a pair of carpenter pants or a tool belt! {And that's his "basic" phone he's waving in the air.} He came up with the "belt" idea on his own.  Later he told me "that's how Bob the Builder wear his tools".  So fun to see them put ideas into action.
Three months, Micah Jude! Having his three month pictures taken at JC Penny (just a simple shot to document his age).  He was so smiley and perfect!

Insta-Life: July Edition

Blog catch-up...say what?!??! One post per week and I'm feeling pretty good about myself these days!

And...a special feature beginning with the July Insta-Life posts: more Instagram pictures! Brian upgraded to the smartphone world (hello 2013!) and has an Instagram account (briankempf).  I'll note which are his pictures, but I'm sure you'll be able to tell because mine are obviously better! ;)
Waiting for Orrville's annual Fourth of July parade to start.  It's one of the best parades in the area, and Mason cleaned up on the candy isle!
 Farmer boy Mason driving each and every one of grandpa's tractors.  Happy as a clam!
 Fourth of July with family! Ribs, pork chops and baked beans on the smoker, other picnic sides, and Joel's oh-so-good (I want a huge piece right now!) no-bake cheesecake with fresh berries.  Yum!!!!!!! (And a blurry Mason with fudgesicle face!)
 Saturday morning smiles.  07.06.13 - Micah was just starting to smile back at you.
 Love having flowerbeds to make beautiful arrangements from, and a hubby who enjoys doing it too!
 Mason asked to hold Micah (while watching a show on the iPad, of course!).  It never lasts long, but seeing the lovin' between my boys doesn't get old!
 Beautiful morning for a run/walk with two cooperative, happy boys! Love the Sonnenburg Valley! Micah was six weeks old that day - squish face and all!
 Doesn't get much better than fresh fruit (mashed raspberries and peaches) on top of vanilla ice cream! (BK)
 The M&M brothers.  (And no, that wasn't intentional when naming Micah.)
 Baby toes' first time in the grass.
 Playing with water.  The only acceptable thing to do outside on this particularly hot day. (Mommy was parked under the umbrella and Micah was inside in the AC napping!)
 Love morning runs! It was still way too hot and humid though! (And I will forever notice and appreciate windmills, especially this one, because of my sweet Mason who has always had an affinity for them.)
Grandpa and his happy grandsons. (Photo credit goes to Brian. IG filter chosen by Jenna.  Group effort.)
 It's a traveling miracle and a parent's dream - both boys sleeping at.the.same.time! And they both look so cute while doing so!
 Mason cools down with a Popsicle while mommy runs (and walks!) in the 90+ degree heat in the Pennsylvania mountains! It was such a bad choice! I got the picture of Mason while suffering through the run - thanks daddy!
 Just devoured a few dozen clams with the family courtesy of Neal. (BK) Note: Jenna did not help in the devouring process.
 Mom reading bedtime Bible stories to Mason from the same book she read to us.  (BK)
 Technically out of IG order, but in order of events... Family picture at Souderton Homes visiting my grandparents.  The flower gardens are beautiful!
 A certain someone was happy, chatty, smiley and active! I think he was glad to be home after a long weekend visiting family, and especially glad to be out of his car seat! It's amazing how a seven-week-old baby can tell when he isn't in his normal environment!
 Freshly picked flowers from Brian for our 8th anniversary! So happy to celebrate those years with a wonderful, caring, helpful, loving husband. Looking forward to many more!
 Brotherly love.
Lots and lots of colorful zinnias this year. (BK)
First summer trip down to the buggy at Lehman's. (BK)

Eight weeks! And happy as a clam to be laying under a tree enjoying life!

Beautiful day for a late lunch at the Dariette!
Digging gold (of the Yukon variety) from the garden. And some red-skinned and all-blue potatoes as well. (BK)
 I love fresh herbs! (BK)
 Micah and I testing out the rocking chairs at Babies R Us while Jenna does some shopping.  We found one we liked. (BK)
 Brothers? Who's who? (Mason on the left and Micah on the right.) I realized that I had a picture of Mason in the same outfit, same Boppy pillow, and almost the same age so I tried to recreate the look with Micah and it worked.  So similar!
 Baby smiles are the best!
 Mason is so sweet and such a helper! He tucks Sophie in, covers Micah with a blanket, and runs to help when he hears Micah getting fussy.  I'm so proud of him and thankful he's made such a good transition to being a big brother! (Now we won't talk about how unsafe he's being climbing on the changing table... he's been warned, but when he's being helpful and sweet, it's hard to tell him not to!)
 Summer nights include a walk (in your PJs so you're ready for bed) with a stop at the local ice cream/pizza shop for a cone.  It was magical...except we stayed out beyond Micah's hunger limits and mommy had to walk him home early!
Two months old...time flies! He's such a wonderful addition to our family and we love him up!
