Micah - 4 weeks old!

Thursday, June 27th was Micah's four week "birthday"! And today, he is one month old.  I remember looking at Brian as we were holding him on the couch after Mason was in bed and saying how it was hard to believe he was already a week old.  And here we are, one month into it and I feel the same.  It just doesn't seem possible that one whole month has passed us by!  We've done lots of fun things and have enjoyed Micah immensely.  Warning: picture overload...all "firsts" for Micah, or fun with family.

 Micah's first trip to the garden.  This was on Sunday morning, three days after he was born.  Mason went to church with Nonie and Grandpa and Brian and I walked around inspecting and enjoying the flowerbeds and garden.

 Newborn babies sleep a lot - something you forget with an active, talkative three-year-old! And babies sure are snuggly sleepers!

 Watching a relationship form between brothers is proving to be sweet and special, and I look forward to watching their bond develop as they both grow.  Right now Mason likes to look at Micah and hold or snuggle him, but aside from that there isn't much for them to do!  {Snuggles in mommy and daddy's bed at four days old.}

 Micah's first bath (5 days old) happened to be at Nonie and Grandpa's house on the bathroom floor while big brother played in the tub.

 Mason is pretty good at holding his brother and does a good job supporting his head.  He prefers to hold him for limited amounts of time, and is usually done in less than a minute.

 Mason is an excellent big brother and is very gentle with Micah.  He was playing with tractors and I laid Micah down in the mix. Mason lined up a few tractors at the edge of Micah's blanket and played nicely around him.

 At one week old Daddy went back to work.  We actually dropped him off and showed Micah off around the office.  Pictured, Brian is actually taking a real work call holding both children while mommy went to the bathroom!

 Micah's first time eating supper on the patio and enjoying the fire pit.  I do believe he's eating in this picture, so he wasn't going to be left out of the fun!

 Mason likes when Micah lays in his bed in the morning, but he doesn't care for it when he "spits" on his pillow. He's quick to yell, "spit, spit, spitting!" so I can wipe up the mess or his face with a burp rag!

 First family walk.  Brian finished an audit early one day and came home.  It was nice to have an extra long afternoon with him and spend lots of time outside!

 Bath time for the brothers.  Even though his cord came out, we've still just been doing a sponge bath on a towel on the floor while Mason is splashing around in the tub.  Sometime we'll try a joint bath!

 Mommy's first {solo} trip to Canton with both boys, and it went well! Micah had an appointment to recheck the hearing in his right ear since it failed each time they tried at the hospital.  He passed one month later at the audiologist, as the pediatrician told us it probably would.  Mason thought the little sized table and chairs in the mall's food court were so fun and made eating extra special!

 It's exhausting, really!

He would stay upright and slowly start slumping until finally flopping down to his knees.  So funny, and so mean of me to take pictures of the process rather than help him!

Stats and info:
-Wearing size 1 diapers {as of June 23}
-Still wearing mostly newborn clothing, but onesies are getting a little snug
-Umbilical cord came off when he was one week, one day {June 8}
-Starting smiling, not necessarily on command, on June 23
-Weighs 9 pounds, 9 oz and is 22 inches long.  {39% for weight and 67% for length}
-Has started sleeping for a seven hour stretch at night, but it starts around 9:00, so I'm getting up about once at night to feed him
-Working really hard on his neck muscles; can hold his head up for about 10 seconds
-Is usually awake for about an hour after eating before getting fussy and falling asleep for a 1.5-2 hour nap
