Cleveland Children's Museum

On Saturday, November 10th, we went to the Cleveland Children's Museum.  We'd been talking about taking Mason and wanted to do it before the busyness of the holidays hits us.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time together!

We started in the special exhibit, Centuries of Childhood, where you could see what life was like on the plains, traveling by covered wagon, living in a teepee, and crossing the Atlantic on the Titanic. 

 The information/learning was a little advanced for Mason, but he enjoyed the activities.

He enjoyed checking out the inside of the Titanic and looking out the windows.  And steering the boat too.

We moved on to the Big Red Barn book room.  There was much fun to be had, and also many children trying to have fun!  The silo had a chute from the top where you could drop food to fill the silo.  Mason was retrieving food and Brian explaining where to put it.

Mason's favorite part of the barn exhibit was the safari truck (not part of the actual story??).  He had fun making both Daddy and Mommy be his passengers!

 Another favorite we had to visit more than once was the RTA transit bus.  Mason LOVED the big steering wheel!  He could have sat here for a long period of time, but there were many other kids looking to take a turn.  We were happy with how well Mason shared and moved on to the next thing.

 He was very specific with where we should sit/stand all day long, especially when he was the driver!

 The water was fun too, of course.  He enjoyed the water wheel and Brian had to do his fair share of making the wheel spin. Again, lots of kids made it a bit hard to fully enjoy playing since there was always someone interrupting what Mason was trying to do or taking something he was playing with.  But he handled it fine.

 This activity looked a little advanced for Mason, but he was willing to try it and loved it.  So much so that he proceeded to do it three times.  There was one spot (where he's standing now) that he needed a little boost because he couldn't quite get his knee up to the next "cloud", but otherwise he did it all.  He was slower than the other kids going through, so we often made him stop to let kids pass, but he wasn't bothered.  Just wanted to do it again and again!

We ate our packed lunch outside on a picnic table since it was sunny and warm, and then proceeded to shop for the rest of the day.  Fun family day accomplished!
