Lucky for us, Joel came to Ohio for the weekend of his birthday! It was so good to see him and we had fun.
We picked him up at the airport on Thursday night, around 9. Then decided we needed some ice cream, so we stopped at Friendly's for a treat. Mason and Joel being silly and entertaining the rest of us!
So happy to see Joel, and excited for yummy ice cream!
Coolest straw you ever did see?
On Friday we headed to Wooster for the morning and afternoon. Mom had a haircut so Joel and I played at Rubbermaid with Mason. He thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't want to leave. Surprising?!?
We ate at Chipotle for lunch, met up with Brian who was finally home from his week-long work retreat, did a little shopping, and picked up birthday cupcakes at The Faithful Little Cupcake.
We had Kidron Pizza for Joel's choice of birthday meal and then enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream!
We chose an assortment of cupcakes and enjoyed tasting all of them. We did manage to save a few for the next day. Amazing how quickly the sugar and sweetness sets in and makes you feel sick!
Blurry... but cute! Mason enjoyed helping Joel blow out his (25) candles.
He also enjoyed a cupcake, mainly the frosting, and chocolate ice cream.Opening gifts.
And snuggling some more. Mason hasn't seen Joel in person since last Christmas, almost 10 months! But he took a liking to him right away and enjoyed having him around.
It was a fun weekend and so nice to see Joel again, all together at home. We're looking forward to seeing him again at Christmas!
