New York City

Last weekend, Friday and Saturday, mom and I went to NYC with my aunt, Martene and cousin, Tonya. We had a great time - they are the best tour guides!

We drove to New Jersery, parked at the port authority, and took the train into NYC. From there we took the subway to our hotel. Then we walked to a pizza bar, Adrienne's, for lunch.

It was great pizza!

After lunch we walked around the city. We stopped at the World Trade Towers site. There wasn't much evidence of what happened on 9/11. It just looked like a new construction site at this point.

We took the subway to the High Line Trail. It's an old train track that the city has converted into a walking park with beautiful flowers and very interesting city landscapes.

Looking down off the trail.

Sitting on a bench wishing the sun would shine on them!

We ate dinner at La Bonne Soupe - very good!

People and trailers. We noticed a bunch of white trailers usually used for filming. We talked to a papparazzi guy who told us they were getting ready to film a scene from Sex and the City 2. We ate dinner and then returned to this street. We were told that Miley Cyrus was in one trailer and that Sarah Jessica Parker was in another. We didn't get to see either of them, but we did see the guy who plays Sarah's boyfriend and the guy who plays her friend. We also walked right past Tim Gunn, a guy on Project Runway. So our trip to NYC was complete with star sightings!

Relaxing in our hotel room after a long day of walking around.
On Saturday we went on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and also to Ellis Island. I don't have those pictures yet, but it was very interesting to see both sites and walk around the museum at Ellis Island.
Thanks, Martene and Tonya, for being our tour guides through NYC!
