Brian and I went to Pennsylvania to visit his family a couple weekends ago. Bobby, his younger brother who still lives in NE, was in PA for a visit and we wanted our time there to overlap. We left our house early Friday morning and got to PA in time for lunch at Crossroad Diner - good pizza and cheesesteaks!
That afternoon we went for a walk and spotted this nice rock along a stream. We crawled over the guardrail and took a picture. It was a little warm, but such a nice day for a walk!
Friday evening, Dave and Susie had the aunts and uncles along with grandparents to their house for dinner so the visitors (us) could see everyone. We enjoyed a very good meal - spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and rhubarb pie for dessert. It was great to visit with everyone who was able to make it for the evening.
On Saturday I went garage saleing with Lydia and her son Baylen. We went for about four hours - my longest record yet! I got a couple good baby things and Lydia found some good "trinkets" for Baylen.
Baylen loves Samson, Neal's puppy.
There was no garden at Dave and Susie's new house, so Brian, Neal, and Dave spent Saturday morning putting one in. Dave is very happy to have a garden again this year. Hopefully he'll be able to find time to keep up with it inbetween taking classes and studying this summer! I'm sure it will be a good stress reliever for him.
There were a bunch of these ugly looking bushes around their house, in the flowerbeds and in random parts of the yard. Neal and Brian used this handy little machine and ripped most of them out. Now Susie is trying to decide what to do with the flowerbeds - I'm sure they'll look great when we visit next!
On Saturday evening we went to Brian's cousin's house for a cookout with the cousins. We also played a few games and had a good time laughing together. On Sunday we went to church, ate lunch with Dave, Susie, and Neal and then left for home. We had a great weekend visiting and we're looking forward to another visit in a couple weekends for Ryan's wedding!
